Reliance Jio wants to work with a number of smartphone brands to launch ‘Jio Exclusive’ phones in India. In fact, the company will provide users with Smartphones from companies such as Vivo, Lava, and Karbonn at prices and benefits such as OTT subscriptions, purchase benefits, and one-screen replacement, reports ET Telecom. However, the 'Jio exclusive' smartphones will only work with the Reliance Jio SIM card inserted. Although Jio is yet to formally adopt the program, general sources told ET Telecom that the program is now in operation.

Jio smartphone launching news

Jio seems to have partnered with Vivo for Jio's special smartphones. Vivo unveiled Vivo Y1s in India last week with Jio's entry-level gift offering benefits worth Rs 4,550 by re-installing Rs 249 or more. The report also suggests that 'Jio Exclusive' smartphones will be priced at less than Rs 8,000 as telco seeks to convert Jio Phone users. Companies like Lava and Karbonn are already offering Smartphones at the Android entry level, and lowering their prices by continuing to partner with Jio is seen as a win-win situation.

Reliance Jio has already partnered with Chinese company Tel to sell smartphones that cost less than Rs 3000-4000. A new step could be to expand this program. With the launch of Vivo Y1s, Jio special phones have now started making their way to the Indian market and we expect to see more devices launched soon. In addition to Jio's special phones, we are also awaiting the launch of affordable Jio 4G smartphones powered by Google's Android platform.
